Float problem and/or petcock problem?

I'm asking this question mostly because I'm lazy. If I have a carbureted bike with a vacuum operated petcock, and fuel is very clearly making its way into the crankcase when the bike is parked... do I have one problem, or two problems? Is it possibly normal operation for the petcock to still trickle fuel into an empty carb when the bike is not running?

That's what I thought... damnit

repair petcock or get a new one, it should not leak or allow fuel to flow if bike is not running and creating a vacuum

If its for your GS500, Suzuki doesn't show any internal replacement parts, just a whole petcock.
Check with your local dealer/repair shop and see if there's an aftermarket kit available OR a manual petcock that would fit.

You have two problems.
The petcock should seal when the bike isn't running, and your needle valve leaks or the floats are too high.
