Was at a restaurant a couple of weeks ago, some international sports channel was on carrying what I thought was soccer initially, then realized they had sticks, thought it was Lacrosse maybe?, turns out it was a sport called Hurling. in the 1/2 hour - 45 minutes we watched, one guy went out on a stretcher, another on couple left the game injured...

Learned the game was called Hurling https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurling
One definition i read about the game was it is a cross between field hockey and murder.

I have seen it a shown on Sports-net a few times. if you ever come across it, take a few minutes to watch it. I thik its a game only drunbk irish guys could come up with and play.... crazy

Another white sports until black joined.... and boom, dominated....

Seriously tho, if the sports requires too much physical strength and contact, its not a game of skills.

I used to play hurling in high school... after a 24 of cheap beer :agave:

But after watching the video, this looks like one hell of a sport !!

I see you've discovered murder ball. Great stress relief.

I'll stick to old fashioned Rugby though. Safer.

How does the goalie stand a chance? At least in lacrosse they have 6 foot wide pads to waddle around in, and a tiny net. The scoring must practically be a foregone conclusion.

Is that Footy (Australian Rules Football)? There used to be a clip on ABC wide world of sports, of someone taking a stick right across the bridge of the nose, from a shot in Hurling.

It's not a hockey ... it's not about the goalie standing a chance ... LOL
