This and That

There's super cheap side stand enlarger plates that lock onto your side stand with bolts on sites like Amazon etc from China. No need to ever remember to put something underneath the stand ever again. Also works on sand etc.
They look out of place imo on anything other than a dual sport or adv bike.
But definitely an option.

Took a break from the deck to do this:

Need to revamp the design though.

Took a break from the deck for a bit as my kids had grad and other stuff.
On vacay next week. Hopefully will be complete and can enjoy it next weekend.
Gonna use the basic Thompson Water seal. If any one sees it on sale please let me know.

Reading through the "rebel won't start" thread I saw the reply from @RoadGhost. Now I have some questions:
Are you supposed to prime all bikes that have a choke?
I have never done that on my Shadow, as I just did what the PO said to do, which is: full choke, start, some throttle, run 1 min or so, choke off.
Have I been doing it wrong this whole time?
Am I damaging my engine at all?

You are fine. I start mine like you do. 'Cept I have a tach and can see when it's warmed up enough.

I only ever primed one of my old old bikes. The suggestion is for that particular engine/carb config.

On a different note --
My 2005 Pilot has some rust on the wheel wells. It's got about 250k on it, but I don't doubt I will get another 50k out of it (about 5 years for me). But, I can't justify putting $ into the body work.
I have been trying to search online for the black oversized fender flares to just bolt on, but my google fu is weak, and I'm coming up with nada.
There is a place called Riva that sells truck accessories near me that I will check out as well.
Anyone have any leads for me?

I care Joe. Looks very nice. :)
Thanks ?

If I can offer any advice to my fellow gtamers it is this:
If you are thinking of staining your deck, please consider Thompson water seal. Easier to apply. Will not peel. (which was my biggest issue, it will fade, but I am ok with that)
Easy clean up, and is available in about 8 different tints.
I should have done this years ago.

Now to pressure wash the interlock and add some fresh polymeric.....

Expensive though

Expensive though
Sorta. $39 a jug. I used 3 jugs but my deck is 27 x 16.
When I used BM Arborcoat it cost me ~$100 in stain.
Tbh I would spend 2x to save the freaking stress I endured with the stain.

Like Joe said...Pay now or Pay later.
That extra time is money that could be put to good use like ice cream.
Or hiring a P.I to find Bernie. Lol

Yeah, previous owner didn't put anything down, and it was starting to go when we bought the place. Getting worse every year, soon we'll have to bite the bullet and tear it out and build another.

Ugh. I hate stained decks. Continual maintenance. It looks good though.
I have had good luck with Cabot Australian timber oil. be careful when it's wet, it is like water over ice.
