Elderly woman fatally struck by motorcycle in Caledon

An elderly woman is dead after being struck by a motorcycle in Caledon.
The woman was struck while attempting to cross the highway at around 11:50 a.m. on Airport Road, north of King Street.
The woman sustained life-threatening injuries and Ornge air ambulance was called to the scene to transport her to hospital. However she was pronounced dead by paramedics before she could be airlifted, Peel Paramedic Services said.
The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries.
Airport Road is expected to remain closed between King Street and Castlederg Side Road for several hours as police investigate the deadly incident.
