2008 Suzuki Boulevard c90 throttle problem

Hey guys,
Today on my way home from school I ran into a little problem. Nothing major but it's very annoying and I think I'm losing some power because of the throttle.

I went to shift and let go of the throttle and I felt it moved a bit and now it spins in the opposite direction, it still accelerates but I have reason to believe my cable is not fully connected or something and now it's not responding how itnshould, has anyone had this issue? Any tips on fixing?

Split the switch housing - the inner cable has likely slipped out of the groove in the throttle tube.
Reinstall, adjust so there is the right amount of slack, put the switch housing back together and away you go.
