Vintage Honda gas tank problems (HELP)

Hey everyone,

Just a quick question. I have a 1975 honda xl350 I am currently restoring and my gas tank has a huge issue no dealer or shop I know of wants to fix. The threads inside the tank that hold the screw that is attached to the petcock is stripped. So my petcock keeps coming loose and leaking gas. I don't want to order a new tank, I just need the threads fixed so I can properly secure my petcock. Does anyone know a shop or anyone in the GTA that can fix this?

Helicoils work for spark plugs, I would expect you can use them in a tank. Johnnyp636 is a good place to start, he has a bunch of sizes in stock, hopefully he has the size you need.
 
You could try searching for a different petcock with a slightly larger diameter, and re-tapping to suit (if there's enough meat around the hole) ?
