Yonge and front is under construction so that street parking is unavailable. Simcoe and King is always full of bikes by the time I get there.

I'm essentially at bay and Wellington and struggling to find street (free) parking.

Anyone have an idea?

bit of a walt, but not that much... try the side street next to the SONY Centre for ARTS or whats its called near the Hockey Hall of Fame

Scott street. Good suggestion. Even the cut outs on front street or the esplanade. Toronto st. is another option... both about a 5 minute walk.
 
Bay & Wellington? May be a little far north/east for your liking, but I always had luck on Victoria (just East of Yonge). Lots of bike parking from Wellington up to Queen, including a couple streets off Victoria.
