How to Wash & Wax your Motorcycle, the proper way!

And to add to that, you wanna lube your chain after that! Cause all the soapy products might've dissolved a lot of the chain lube :) (especially with that soapy pressure washer)

Have you already used the 'water sheeting' technique? I know you use an air dryer but it helps avoid water spots :)

Very true you should also lube in most cases after a wash!
Also yes I have! Though I really wanted to show off my little air blower muahah so I used that :p

Umm, I think good chain lube sticks like snot. To wit, I'm doing major tune up on a couple bicycles this week. The Dupont teflon chain saver is extremely resistant to kerosene, TSP/water and good old dish detergent/water. Just a fyi.

Interesting, when I get home I will see how my Motul C1 held up!

I use dupont as well...maybe i'll try your suggestions :)

What is my suggestion? All I'm saying is that some soapy water is not going to wash your chain lube away if it's any good. I went thru heck getting the bicycle chains cleaned including taking them off and soaking them in a container. Yes, eventually I got them clean but that Dupont is tough.

However you wash your scoot, don't wax it like this guy. (Skip to about 3:00 for about 30 seconds, and then about 8:00 for the money shot not long afterwards).

You guys wash your bikes? I thought that's what rain and water crossings are for?

If we base ourselves off last summer, there weren't that many rainy days (rode almost all days to work!)

I've seen this crash in so many compilations but never what led to it! Cool little bike wash station as well!

The wax had nothing to do with him crashing unless the spry wax that this places uses is some magic stuff. Next time your at the car wash spray your hand with the wax, it's not slippery. Wet tires, sand, and lean angle were the cause.

Hard to say...looks like there was something all over the road (run off from other cars that had went through the wash perhaps?) that he failed to notice (or didn't think would be an issue) and it was contributory.

FWIW, the wax they use at the local spray and pay here is slippery. I suspect the concentration they dial into the mix makes a big difference but the place I go to doesn't seem to be cheaping out on the concentration.
