Car Wrap and Window tinting

Not sure if people are aware but part of the new regulations coming up, the safety inspection will now also inspect the window tinting to ensure it is within the law. Shops are required to buy a device that measures the darkness of the tinting.

That's not going to go well. IIRC correctly, 35% transmission is required, that is damn transparent compared to most installed tints. Hell, factory non-tinted windows are something like 75% transmission.

just had my vehicle done here, window tinting only at this time

I just had my front windows tinted to match the factory tint on the rear windows...which is 20%

Rear windows have (had?) a different limit than front windows. There was also omething stupid about trucks as well which is how the rear windows in SUV's are so dark, but the rear windows in cars are barely tinted. I haven't bothered reading the new rules in depth to see if they have cleaned that up.

Never ever heard of a limit for rear window, and or rear doors, go as dark as you wish, hell some vehicles don't even have rear windows, so can't see there being anything on the books

Not a big fan of window tinting. Finding too many people today are using to try to hide the fact that they are texting D-Bags!
