East Coast and Newfoundland in June 3 weeks

What happened to the East Coast?

Got the Sheraton Burlington for $138 CDN via Hotwire. That's the one that comes up at 3.5 stars and we have stayed there every time via Hotwire. Pretty good hotel with indoor pool. Brewpubs here we come.

New tire and new chain $400 later but x-ring chain.

All was good - happy campers.....came the deluge. Of course neither of had gear on or done up --- thought we were getting around it. It actually felt good after all that heat.

Had to pull over ( as were cars ) and wait out the heavy gusts. Finally drove out of it 30 minutes later and now the sun is out in Lake Saranac a couple hours later tho they expect another round tonight ....

Plan is to blitz the 401 early then up 412 ext to 407 - turned out that exit 418 is also functional to the 407.

Blew in around 4.30 - kid went ahead and got in a few minutes ahead. Got off a bit later than we wanted but it really was a beautiful ride along 3 from the Lake Placid
407 extension was brilliant to avoid traffic.
Last 20 minutes in Mississauga was brutal as I came down the wrong road....no biggie ...

My P3 tires are due for replacement and the rear was plugged about 10,000 km back. Was doing fine until the last few days of this trip - was slowly dropping - might be the same plug. Will try and get another 2 weeks out of it then put the bike away til next May. Have fresh K60s ready for it.
Put it to 40 the other night and it was 34 in the morning and dropped to 33 after 1/2 hour... stayed there and came up to 34 , 35 and 36 as the tire warmed. Having the TPMS was very reassuring in this situation.

Took a break and it was down to 33 again so topped it off on the 401 at 40 and was still at 40 when I got home....given the speed and the heat likely revulcanized the plug. Will be checking it over the weekend and replug if needed.

Day was pretty windy but not horrid heat and just a smatter of rain unlike yesterday. Happy getting home before the major rush. 20 minutes waiting at the border was annoying.

Those going to Lake Placid - HWY 3 is really nice in most areas now. Was very enjoyable riding.

Some 7k km and 20 days later, a good time was had by all....even the wet and cold ones. The SENA's were a total plus the whole way.
