FZ 07, FZ 09, or FZ 10?

Nice colour. My kid looks like Darth Vader with all black gear and all black FZ8.

Shad seat, Shad top box with a top carrier ( was very useful for drying clothes ) , drink holder ..good for 10k km in 3 weeks.

I think coming off the Daytona, there is no benefit to the fz-07 over the other two bikes. You may find it underpowered. Personally, I can't speak to the mt10 as I haven't ridden it, but I sat on it at the bike show this weekend, and the thing is beyond ugly (to my tastes) and is quite pricey

I just picked up a brand new 2014 fz-09 last month after tons of research, and it is the perfect bike for me. Super powerful, very comfortable and extremely flickable. I was coming off a 2007 zx6r, and am loving my new comfy seating position and laughable amount of torque.

My only complaint with the bike was the seating position was a tad too upright for me, but a pair of ProTaper Carmichael handlebars fixed that and now she's perfect. Join the dark side!

Looks great! Thanks guys!

Do you have a screen on your FZ-09? I demoed one last year and at anything faster than 100 it was unbearable. It didn't seem like the type of bike you could do a lot of highway riding on.
Yes I do, anything above 140 becomes hard to ride.

Can't see the screen too well but I don't have any pics that show it

Edit, here I found one

Im about to pull the trigger on the M4 exhaust, do you like it? Do you use the baffle?

Hell yea, I can't stand loud pipes. This thing unfortunately is loud even with the baffle but I really like it. Some hp gain , 9 pounds less and it looks great

Try the FZ10. The torque in these monstors will amaze you, Dont forget it has a R1 engine tuned for much better streetability. Rode my FZ1 throught the NC mountains and didn't hardly shift...I just used the throttle...Still makes me pucker when i open it up :)

The fz09 has more useable low down power than my old fz1.

Not trying to start an argument but i have to ask. Why did you even buy an FZ09? It looks like you were mislead into buying the wrong motorcycle and attempted to justify your mistake with mods.

What about any of his posts here makes you feel that way? Because he pointed out a few 'cons' of the bike when asked for a review? Because he put a seat and a tail bag on it? Please elaborate

Don't worry about Drennan, because troll.

When I purchased my FZ07, at the time, I had a choice between that and the FZ 09. I choose the FZ07 because it had better gas milage and to me the off center display on the FZ 09 was driving me a tad bit crazy. Also I found the stock seat way more comfortable than the FZ 09.
I got to test ride both of them and to me the 07 felt more stable and smoother. The 09 felt more like a dirt bike, a really powerful heavy dirt bike. A bike I probably would get into more trouble on. So I opted for the 07. Thing still gets me into trouble every now and then. It's obviously not as fast as the 09 but it is just as fun.

If you are thinking of using it for a few track days then definitely get either the FZ 10 or the FZ 09. The FZ07 is not good for the track in stockish form. Setup for track, however, it would be a lot of fun, but that would cost a bit to much extra to Mod. At that point you may as well just buy the FZ 09/10.

Thats my .02

Agreed. I want some clarification myself. lol

I don't think his posts indicated any sort of identity issue with the bike.

I recently switched from a fully sorted first gen FZ1 to a FZ09. The -09 feels like a toy in comparison, but not in a bad way. The FZ1 was rock solid on the highway and pulled fairly hard. I also had a single round headlight on it, so also a naked bike. Despite giving up quite a bit of power the -09 is probably about as quick from 0-100mph if not quicker, but then the FZ1 will walk away. BUT, like the others have said that's not the strength of this bike. I love how light and flick-able it is and just how much fun it is to ride that I can't properly put into words.

My ECU is currently in the mail and my front forks are off getting re-worked. Once it's all back together I will provide more impressions.

Oh and mine also has a custom luggage rack as I commute and tour a bit on the bike and I'm pretty sure I bought the right bike :)

That said, I'd love a FZ10, i'll pick up a used one in a couple years.

Yes, yes I am :p

But it also is a valid question. If comfort and touring capablities were important to him why on earth did he buy an aggressive "naked" bike just to spend more money on extensive mods like a long range Corbin seat if he can't even hold highway speeds comfortably. That's like putting an extended mileage fuel tank on a drag car. Makes no sense.

What is the general price difference for insurance?
Can someone provide some quotes when you checked.

At the rate things are going with insurance we will treat a 500 like a 1000 ss, lol
Omg, that is so much power for you to use on the street...lol

I also wonder how they will treat electric bikes since they don't work by cc and it appears you can/will get a lot more hp out of an electric bike.
