It's that time of year again-for demo rides. I did a quick search and found a thread (in the New Riders area) in which I subsequently posted in- however I was advised to create another thread here by a mod when I asked. Maybe a dumb question but do you need the full M for these? Literally asking for a friend since I'm getting my M early may anyways!

Actually think I know the answer to my own question...I've done a Harley day with my M2.

Typically only the SS bikes will require a full M to ride.

It depends on the bike / dealer.

Even though it's snowing at the moment outside my window it is technically spring.
We all know that the good riding days are coming soon and a new motorcycle, even if it is only a dream is on the minds of most

No problem, happy to help- it's good info to have. Thank you to FLSTC for the Davies demo day, I updated the original post with Davies' and Mackie's Demo Days- I couldn't find Jacox's Demo day on their site. Like AGMZ mentioned most SS bikes will require a full M, but others you can ride with your M2, some even your M1 I believe but if there is a ride you are interested in and a bike your interested in specifically I advise to call or email ahead of time to investigate to avoid disappointment on demo day.

For example the R1-S requires full M, as do the GSXR's and the M109, I know I wanted to do MV Augusta's ride last season which i heard about the day of and had never seen any posted info for and didn't end up going because it was an hour ride out of my way and they wanted a full M.

Just to give you guys some idea, last season with an M2, I rode 8 Harleys, Ducati 1299 Panigale S, Monster 1200S, Multistrada, BMW S1000rr, S1000R, and S1000XR most notably. I tried out 30+ bikes last season on demo days. Unless the ride is pregistered its best to arrive an hour before the ride starts to register especially if you want to ride something specifically. Some of these rides get crazy busy. Brampton Power Sports, hands down the busiest that I went to last season.

Last time I checked Ducati's website they required 21 years of age and full M to ride their bikes. Do they make exceptions for some people?

The route is very short

Before they would go down to lakeshore and up Mississauga rd

Last year they just took the qew from cawthra .. Exited Mississauga rd and dundas back to the store

all the duc rides may be 21+... i wouldn't know.. problems i don't have any more. like i said, they're fine with m2 for sure though. if you read the fine print in the duc demo ride waiver if i recall it basically said something like you dump the bike you owe a 5k deductible and you basically bought the bike and owe them the remainder or something ridiculous like that. i dont recall 100% but either way i was in shock when i read/signed it and the ride as exihlarating as it was, was also a bit nerve racking.

Hm, i didnt give them any CC info, and I demo'd duc's at two different dealers. shame there's no monster especially the new 1200r, the monster 1200S was a very enjoyable experience for me, felt practical, comfortable and just all around a good time last season. too bad. Do you have a list of bikes they're bringing out this year?

The bikes are a mixture of corporate and dealer bikes... So no list will cover every dealer

I just took another look at Ducati's site where I got the demo day info, and it does confirm that all rides are 21+ as well as the following;
This year, we have an incredible offering, from the 959 Panigale and Scrambler Sixty2, the Hypermotard 939 and Monster 1200 R, and especially the revolutionary XDiavel cruiser.


since all rides are preregistered reserve the bike of your choice at the dealer of your choice for your ride to avoid disappointment.
