Turkey just shot down a Russian jet...

Not sure why anyone in their right mind would support Turkey in any capacity. Terrorist state.

Anyone here old enough to remember this?

The Russians invented the game. They were warned this time. They got slapped. They would be wise not to retaliate, but Putin does not like losing.

Why wouldn't they retaliate if, for example Turkey violates Armenian air space (where Russia has SAM's), Syrian air space or fires against non-ISIS troops on Syrian territory? They won't be able to resist committing either of those actions and what's good for the goose.....

Turkey is weird. At a recent soccer match the fans there booed a moment of silence for Paris and reportedly chanted "Allahu Akbar." Russia is one of the few powers actually taking the fight to ISIS and Turkey shoots down one of their fighter/bombers?

Seems like ISIS has a new ally.

not a new ally, turkey has long been a supporter of isis, buying their oil and providing munitions. the usa/nato objective is to wreak havoc within the middle east, thus opening the door for the usa/nato new world order domination. the usa have been more clandestine in their support of isis, publicly claiming to fight them, while the cia black ops supplies munitions to them. remember benghazi? those americans were murdered because they were preparing to whistle blow the operation. hilary clinton was a crucial player in the cover up. and now she will likely be the next usa president. pure evil.

i believe when the usa citizens realize the truth of what is happening, and stop allowing themselves to believe the mainstream media brainwashing, including the 911 BS, they will surround the whitehouse and congress by the millions.
hang on to your hats people, its going to be a wild ride. NSA surveillance blackness is there to intercept and stop those who may tell the truth, not to protect or provide security to its citizens.

please email PM trudeau this message: CANADIAN MILITARY OUT OF THE MIDDLE EAST AND UKRAINE.

While downing of the Russian jet is hardly a surprise due to previous violations and warnings from last month, it is wrong on so many levels to take down a jet, that is essentially trying to wipe out ISIS even if it has a different agenda - http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/11/analysis-turkey-downing-russian-jet-151124163107795.html

Turkish government aka AKP is not even trying to hide any longer that they are supporting ISIS.

This is what happens when imams (priests) that don't even have undergrad diplomas are elected to run a country.

The statement of Turkey being a "terrorist state" may be stretching the envelope a little too much though. From another perspective, U.S is training other rebels in the area and providing weapons as well.

They warned them 10 times with no response and the Syrians have been flying sorties near the Turkish border so they could have thought it was a Syrian aircraft.......aside from the huge red star on the tail of course.

Say the Turks ... you know what the Russians say? Not in Syria at all and no comm from Turks ... pick who you believe ...

Than there's also something called reality ... when you are up there things are not like on PS4 sim game or your car GPS. The speeds are higher and distances not always large, like in this little piece of southern land. In another words, you will be hard pressed to find many encounters where a plane is shut down, if it is known to not pose an imminent threat, but rather just passing through for very short period of time. Not unless you want to start something, or someone wants you start something .... btw, there's no way that this was a mistake. That is simply not possible, unless the shooting pilot was into a bottle up there.

Seems like ISIS has a new ally.

Turkey has been supporting ISIS for a long time now I believe, since they first emerged.

Regarding the soccer game - what is not known by many is that prior to attacks in Paris, there were attacks in Ankara that claimed over 100 lives at a peace rally.

Next soccer game, Turkish fans disrespected the moment of silence for Ankara just as it happened in Paris.

Brainwashed by the media, no access to any coverage other than the ones that are controlled by the government, and fed some proper BS by the government day and night, I just can't blame these people for their stupidity. I hate them as much as the next guy, but I do have some empathy I guess.

What I bet will happen is Russia resumes the airstrikes, but this time the Su-24s will have escorts. That's probably about the least hostile action Putin could take

already done.. the escort are su35 super flankers/mig35 .. they have the orders to pursue and eliminate ANY THREAT... turkey better ground its airforce... it has nothing in its arsenal to come close to that beast. india has the less sophisticated su-30mki and mig-29(upgraded variants) considered the best air to air fighter s in the world next to the f22... Pakistan's airforce which essentially has the same or better variants of the turkish f-16's didn't dare confront the indian airforce during the kalgir war.. india literally deployed 2 jets over the conflict in shifts.. pakistan kept its airforce far far away...

For once America is doing Russia's heavy lifting. Millions and millions of Turkeys will meet their end tomorrow!

Actually I thought that Turkey was supporting the Turkmen...that the Russians were bombing...who aren't actually ISIS but are against Assad (and against ISIS). The situation is pretty nasty over there and every nation player seems to have it's own primary agenda with the secondary agenda being destroying ISIS. Like I said before, if everyone was concentrating on getting rid of ISIS all would be fine but the Russians want to prop up Assad, the US and Brits want to get rid of Assad and the Turks want to support the Turkmen and make sure the Kurds don't get uppity. Seems the French are the only ones buzzing with anger and actually trying to seriously degrade ISIS right now.

You ask 1000 people and you get thousand different answers ..... Very few people know what's going or not going on and none of those people is or will be talking. It's starting to look like never ending Israel/Palestine game. People just give up following it or even care ....

You are making it more complicated than it actually is.

Sure ... Yeah and that's why the mess has been a mess for so long time.

Just for the record, I have not clicked the link/source you suggested.

Russia will not go into an all out war with Turkey of course. But instead, they will use this to advance their campaign in Syria and maybe even send ground troops.
