Anyone have a Buell 1125r?

I had the chance to ride one of these yesterday. The front brake is awesome. Great feel and power. The handling is ok when the roads are slick. The ergonomics are okay for a sport bike. Almost no engine braking at all which was surprising after all my time on the TL series. The bike spun up the rear tire effortlessly just casually accelerating from 110 kph on the cool and slick highways, nice and controllable. Can't say what the true top end is like but my SV certainly has more bottom end and less everywhere else. I barely felt any vibration so you may want to re-torque all your fasteners and definitely synch your injectors.
i like this 1125.

It doesn't really have any bar ends, so I ordered some. I also haven't re-balanced the wheels either. Yeah, nowhere near as much engine braking as one would expect. I guess I'll go through brake pads a bit quicker.

I can't wait to ride it in warmer weather because I barely had a chance to test the bike last season.

Trying to find a good deal on a muffler but that seems virtually impossible. Barker is the cheapest but with our dollar sucking so bad, it will have to wait. Used market is dry as well.
EBR ECM would be a nice upgrade as well if I can find one for a reasonable price.
I don't even know if the stock ECM has been flashed. Contacted a couple of H-D dealers but of course they said they don't service Buells any more. Will have to find a local shop that can check that for me. I was hoping it could be done under warranty, that's why reached out to H-D.

Yet more proof of what an amazing company Hardley is. Basically telling you off if you bought the product. Zero support.

I don't understand your extended warranty... when HD shuttered Buell, they promised 7 years (I think it was 7) of parts and warranty support, after which they would drop the line completely. Is your warranty an after market one or directly from HD?

Not so sure they can flash the stock ECU -- EBR sold you a new ECU that you simply plugged in, in place of the old one.

I thought the engine braking was a bit on the heavy side until I installed an EBR ECU. You could choose how you wanted it programmed - I chose minimal engine braking and loved it.

For used parts, check out BadWeatherBikers.com -- it's a robust Buell site. Don't know if they're still in business, but you may want to check out American Sport Bike as well - they were Buell specialists.

American Sport Bike is going out of business soon. One of the US H-D dealers is supposed to take over.

Extended warranties from H-D are handled by a company called CNA.

I've read on Buell forums, that they kept releasing new maps and updates and that H-D used to perform ECM flashes for free. My bike may have had one or not - I don't know.

If I keep the bike for a longer period of time, I'll most likely end up with EBR ECM anyhow.

I like some engine braking for downhill twisties.

Is the EBR ECU clearly marked? My friends bike literally has almost zero engine braking.

No distinct markings that I can remember. I have a vague memory of a small sticker on the underside of the ECU that indicated which exhaust it was tuned for (HMF, Drummer, Jardine and maybe one other) but that's about it.

If your friend's bike had almost zero engine braking it was likely an EBR ECU in the bike.
