N64 help

Man do I regret getting rid of my NES back in the day....I still feel nostalgic about it and wish I had it :(

I still remember the first time I played 'Need for Speed' on 3DO....hooked on that series for life!

I feel the same way about my Sega Genesis man. I got another one recently but still wish I had my childhood one. My gf found her old NES and all the games in her basement last winter. I cleaned all her games and the 72 pin connector and it still works after 25 years! Ninja Turtles the Arcade game and the Mega Man series kick ***.

I miss contra on that thing. So much fun. Still remember cheat up up down down left right a b a

Funny, my box of NES games recently surfaced - just that I don't have any NES systems, I sold them for parts because I couldn't find any replacement edge connectors at the time

Never played Contra back in the day but I've got it on this Super Fun Joy thing I found at a flea market for $3. It's a Chinese plug and play game with like 80 NES and classic arcade games built in. It's basically an NES on a chip and it's all built into a N64 looking controller.

Steam has been distributing a bunch of retro local co-op games lately; any decent htpc with a couple wireless xbox controllers works great for them! Here is an "updated" version of contra:

And another great NES favorite, a re-armed version of bionic comando plus a remake!

Also arcade titles such as the original double dragon trilogy plus a complete new remake:

ive got a couple friends that i still play goldeneye and perfect dark with. occasionally we'll throw in diddy kong racing for some dogfight battles.

our 64 gets more playtime than the wii or ps3

I'll agree - it was hands down AWESOME on the 3D0. I probably spent more time playing that game than any console game ever....and I was never a big console gamer.

River Raid on the Atari2600 was pretty addictive in it's day as well. ;)

I can't remember what game I played on a Commodore....the screen cracked when you crashed....when you fell off a cliff....when you ran out of time...horrible graphics....but the start of my love with car racing games....

I'm going on Kijiji to find me an NES!

EDIT: NEVERMIND....just saw the prices of these systems....more expensive than the Wii...

Spent a lot of time playing that as well. Although I was never a console gamer...I spent countless hours playing C64 games.

Oh man, I played a ton of Test Drive on my 80286 w/CGA graphics. Monochrome orange monitor. No controller, I had to mash the arrow keys to turn. Clack clack clack.

I'm old balls.

My neighbour has a full C64 set up. Monitor, keyboard, floppy drive & printer. Keyboard was the cpu, right?

I think so.

Back in the days of Communist Poland we had a computer (Commodore I think) that actually read cassettes! You had to rewind/FF to the time that each game started on...and played like that. Now that was ghetto...but advanced at the time.

For most of my teenage years, I used a C64 monitor as a bedroom TV. Colors (and scrambled porn) looked amazing on that thing.
