Const. James Forcillo shot Sammy Yatim - the trial

as a semiauto with a decent capacity in .223 cal it would be a pretty effective killing tool, assault rifle or not. Now lets get all these guys well trained beyond range training because .223 will not be stopped by a car door.

what makes a semi auto .223 an assault rifle or not an assault rifle?

Because money is limited... and in the context of Toronto (I cannot emphasize it enough, TORONTO, THE CITY OF TORONTO, an urban centre), would't make more sense to buy tasers for all officers first? And when that phase is completed, then move on to the assault rifles at a later time?

Not only would it be more effective it would probably lead to the police killing less people thats a good thing. Only issue i have is when you start handing tasers out police forces have generally had trouble keeping their officers from using them as punishment tools rather than tools to end threats.

Select fire so if it can switch between Semi-auto and Automatic fire settings these can only shoot semi-auto.
you sure? according to anti gunners and the media any black semi auto is an assault rifle!

They think any semi-automatic is an assault rifle. SKS got called one in some article I was reading. But going off pure technical definitions its not an assault rifle.

.22 will go through a car door if it does not hit the reinforcement bars. .223 is defiantly a decent round for the police to use it has less chance at over penetration than a pistol round.

More triggers, different triggers, more or less powerful triggers.

More devices with triggers doesn't fit into my idea of de-escaltation.

Trigger culture: When the only tool is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail. What about when the only tools have triggers and cross-hairs?

I am more scared of police than anything else.

I am sure the cops carrying them will be well trained

Maybe one day get to de escalate a situation with it

lol, this was the first thing that came to mind...

JohnnyP- "I know what you're thinking, did he fire 30 shots or only 29?? In all this excitement I lost track myself..."

Maybe because tasers don't work well against increasing use of firearms by gang-bangers in Toronto and increasing numbers of shooting victims?

Would you bring a taser to a gunfight?
