Loud sound coming from exhaust on cold startup?

This morning I started the bike up (first time since Friday afternoon) and once it cranked over a loud sound came from the exhaust. It sounded like a release of air pressure. It then warmed up fine and I rode 65 km with it no problem.

Any ideas?
 
what kind of bike ? make model year ? do you have a video ?

it can be anything....you have to give us more details.

08 ninja 250r, no video cause I wasn't expecting it at all. Didn't happen again after I fueled up that same morning (5-10 minutes later). I've heard the bike back fire before on a startup but never something that loud.

Its common...at least from what I know from reading the 250 forums, I usually let the bike idle for a few seconds before shutting it down.
 
If its not doing that all the time - leave it alone.
