Yes it's a fairly big job. If you were just swapping with the same size gasket it's much easier. It would be much ideal to drop the motor (an extra hour of work) then to try and struggle with the motor in the bike. You'll need to measure PTV clearance, squish before to determine which gasket to use and set your timing after. It's not just a part swap.
