I installed a tor browser just to check it out, but have no clue how to use it or what the big deal is. Seems just like a super slow super secure way to browse.
I wish. I think it would be fun to try and bait out all the child porn tards on the deep web.
80% of the internet isn't indexed by regular search engines like google therefore unreachable unless if you have the exact ip address. It's the perfect place to do illegal activities and get illegal products because it's usually hard to reach. There are tons of illegal drug and gun websites on there. Silk Road was a pretty big operation that dealt drugs like amazon would deal products.
There are also a haven for pedophiles who access deep web sites that contain tons of child porn. It's run on Bitcoin and almost everything is purchasable. Apparently lots of ****ed up **** on there too. There are super rare things called red rooms where you can watch women get raped or someone (usually a home less person) get tortured or murdered. If you are rich enough ($200k+) you can bid to have the attacker do whatever you want to that person. Crazy crazy stuff.
It's also a very anonymous way for journalist to communicate with their informants. It's encrypted and supposedly anonymous.
This is an example. This posted apparently on a serial killer website on the deep web. It's called Tara the android. The robot says "I feel fantastic" with ****ed up noise whenever one of the wires connected to her moves. Apparently the serial killer had buried his victims alive in his backyard and attached cords to their bodies so even when they slightly moved or any made noise the robot would sing. The killer also dressed up the android in the woman's clothing and posed it in the demeanour his victim would be in. Someone corrected me if I got anything wrong.

No this was posted on an old geocities account yeas ago hardly a dark web site. Its made by an amature robotics hobbyist and artist named John Bergeron. While he's never really talked about the videos there is no evidence to suggest its anything more than creepy art.
OP the dark web is allot more boring than you think. Yes you can buy drugs and weapons and other illegal stuff and yes there is a ton of Child Porn but its mostly really boring technical stuff and communities of people that just don't want to be indexed. The stories about the Rape webcams and murders rooms are pretty much that stories. Hell even 99% of snuff films are fake.

Yeah that's what I thought. I found mostly dead sites. Tons of people said there were a lot more open sites with all the highly illegal stuff before silk road shut down. Now it's invite only.

Dark web is only accessed via tor or some other third party proxy people use it interchangeably there are loads of none illegal dark web pages and communities. You find the illegal stuff on both if you know were to look.
