FRANKLIN, Ky. -- Police in Kentucky say an Ontario woman is dead and her companion injured after their motorcycles were struck by a truck.
Kentucky State Police say Heather and Michael Laughlin, both 48, of Bracebridge, were parked partially on the road shoulder and standing near their motorcycles east of Franklin on Sunday when they were hit.
They say Heather Laughlin died in hospital. Michael Laughlin was treated for his injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt.
