Oh I understand completely, and you did well by anticipating him moving around the truck, and staying back so that he wouldn't hit you. The alternative is to get slightly ahead so that he can see you before he changes lanes, but that isn't always possible, especially with people rolling through the lights from the right lane, which most people don't do from the middle lane.

Knucklehead in the silver SUV/truck ran him into your lane, and you do tend to drive more aggressively with the adrenaline rush. Not sure why that guy needed to get over in a big rush without looking.

Check again. BMW boy was nowhere in site approaching the ramp. He must have been doing some pretty mean weaving to get where he was, when the SUV started to move over. That driver could have checked his mirrors and blind spot, and been completely clear when he decided to move.

There was a Jetta in the L merging lane behind the 4Runner. So for the BMW to suddenly occupy that place next to the SUV means he was going at a fair clip and weaving through lanes. Just like he did after the near collision.

o.k. I checked again, and I stand by my original statement. I suggest that you do the same. It's the same thing on a one lane highway, if you are pulling out to pass someone, you have to look for someone passing you. You seem to be reading something into what the guy did before and after to justify him being cut off like that. I don't buy it. Maybe it's just the way that Toronto drivers normally behave, I don't know. I always look, and unless the guy is doing 60-100 kph more than I am, I see him in plenty of time, and if that's the case, I can't justify being in the passing lane anyways.
 
I watched again and you're right, the SUV driver would have had plenty of opportunity to see the BMW come up behind him at a fast closing rate, and anticipate that he'd try and get around. Just basic situational awareness. Not saying the BMW driver is blameless, but you didn't say that either so we seem to agree.

Except I'd go even further and suggest the SUV driver knew the BMW needed to pass and made the lane change anyways because... ego. I say that based on the speed the SUV was going relative to other cars, suggesting he was also an aggressive driver (types who tend have good situational awareness). Also based on his very moderate response to, and quick recovery from, being squeezed next to the BMW.

If you're in the passing lane, and the TTC bus is passing you on the right, there's something wrong.
Most likely you're in the wrong lane and should move over. Poor lane choice happens all the time in the GTA.

Any idea why the camera vehicle was weaving back and forth between lanes so much?
