Re: Honda CRV hits rider

Yup, and yet it has absolutely nothing to do with pointing out that the rider wasn't a super speeder. I see that for some ignorance is not curable. It's pointless to continue when people do not understand even the basics of logical thought.

Funny you should say that because nobody is disagreeing with you. They're just adding another level of analysis which you fail to, or refuse to, grasp.

Finally someone starts to get close but still can't figure it out. Go look at the posts again.

I quoted a post and info that I wanted to clear up noting it was false; one of many types of analysis going on in the thread at that time. Then others responded by quoting me and talking about a different unrelated analysis that had zero, zilch, nada to do with what I said, using it to discount my info. What a red herring fallacy. By all means add away another level of analysis to the overall discussion, however it has nothing to do with my single limited scope post and comment... and it make zero sense to quote me in it. And if I wanted to debate those additional analyses I would have quoted it in a preface to actual discussion, like normal people.

Your criticism could apply equally to you, since those you replied to had zero, zilch, nada to do with "victim blaming", only that he made a mistake by virtue of his relatively high speed compared to surrounding traffic. There's a difference between a making mistake and bearing responsibility for a crash, if the mistake isn't illegal.

So the discussion was already at that other level and you narrowed the scope down to the simple matter of liability. When people replied to you, it was to ensure the point wasn't lost about riders ultimately being responsible for our own safety regardless of legal right and wrong.

To be fair, I would imagine there's a cumulative factor to the frustration.. The blind hate from some around here for anything that isn't how/what they ride is palpable...

Are you thinking that we should reevaluate our attitude towards unplated, uninsured, stolen vehicles being driven on one tire?

All of us should. I invite you to do likewise.

Meh, I quoted and countered someone who said the rider made a "mistake" and "look[ed] to be cooking along". If that isn't blaming the victim in some way I must be in bizarro Fastar world. lol.

Yup, all Neil V's posts show he is a huge endorser of illegal stunters on major highways doing bonzai runs.

And the dash cammer proceeds to make a left turn into the wrong lane.

Russian dash cams > Toronto dash cams... seems mundane compared to watching the Russian ones.

Re: Honda CRV hits rider

Seems reasonable. Guy nearly gets wiped out and we heap criticism upon his very next move? I don't get it.
It's evident that you don't get it by your posts. One of the purposes of this thread is to learn from other people's mistakes. Guy nearly gets wiped out, and gets frazzled by it, then does something stupid himself. In this case, no harm done, either way. Lesson learned, is that when you're involved in a near miss, you need to try and maintain your concentration on getting yourself out of there safely. A short rest break in a safe spot would help. Bonus reason, is that if you're going to post videos of others mistakes and criticize them . . . do you get it now? (You'd best be ready for others to criticize your errors
