Temp HOV + two wheels. Can someone confirm this?

Rode the DVP home and being backed up from the gardiner it was just awesome to use. Except for the tool in the taxi that was going 50km/h for a good while, causing a line to build up behind him.
Love seeing all the police presence to stop people from abusing it... so many around coming in and out of the lane it's almost like they're escorting you.
Once I got to 404 it was back-logged really badly until 16th. They need to open up the HOV there as well. I noticed 2 riders using it illegally, and they weren't stopped - although I didn't see any police presence for the HOV on the 404.

I rode the DVP north and south this afternoon. Traffic crawled and I whizzed by. I saw a lot of cops catching cheaters, and a lot of cheaters sneaking back into the middle lane when they saw cops. I stuck mostly to the left tire track because I was moving at a decent speed past traffic I didn't want to get clipped if somebody quickly tried to enter my lane. Not sure if this is the best approach, but it felt more comfortable to me.
Forget this petition, just tweet to the Minister of Transportation (https://twitter.com/stevendelduca) and the Mayor (https://twitter.com/johntory). Many tweets will definitely get a a response.

Interesting response. Was there a referendum (considering this a wholly optional entertainment event) that indicated that a majority of the GTA desired this mess? So basic democracy is too inconvenient for the government, but weeks of traffic stress (and possible accidents) aren't too inconvenient for the residents? You know, the people who get to wear this albatross for however long it takes to pay off. This is so a handful of privileged athletes and bureaucrats can burnish their credentials. It doesn't sound like a good deal to me and only fuels further political disengagement of the citizenry.

Safest to be further from the stuck traffic by being in the left track.

Yes, I rode the left track of the diamond lane. If you're behind a car, just remember drivers in the middle lane won't see you in their mirror and may want to pull in behind the car you are following...

Yep, I was thinking about that this morning. Alternatively leave much more room between you and cars ahead of you. I don't think it's wise to be going the full 90 or 100km/hr in this lane. Way too many people looking to make a stupid move. Maybe someone snaps from sitting still in traffic too long and pulls into your lane without signalling. You see people do that all the time in regular stopped traffic...
It also starts to get to be a bit much having to keep your eye on so much stopped traffic for so long. Very fatiguing I found.
Me too. Trying to see if I will beat my 38min door to door from downtown Toronto to Aurora.
Lots of people coming in and out of the HOV lane getting fed up of waiting in traffic. I see now today the police are using unmarked cars... very clever. I passed an older forest green Chevy Ventura with its cherries on pulling someone over... You'd never know it was a cop.

+1. Also be wary as passing highway on-ramps. Highly probable that cabs or cars will be merging into the HOV lanes shortly after entering the road and merging through the first two right lanes. They're focused on getting into the HOV lane in the least amount of time., with little due care

+10000 a bunch of sheep. They have us wrapped around their finger. If enough people put up a fight and used the lanes "ïllegally" maybe someone would get the hint. There is power in numbers.
Yes. I enjoyed moving along at a moderate speed compared to all the stopped traffic. But definitely wary of impatient drivers. So I held back a little, but still moved along much faster than the "1 per car" crowd. I sure am enjoying that.
I'm game. I take the train in when it's cold.
You can't carry 3? People in Asia can carry a family of 5 on their little 125 2-stroke. What's your excuse?!?!?! :lmao:
