Motorcycle RPM idle

Hey guys so I wasn't sure if there is something wrong with my bike. My bike is carbureted, when I start it ( Cold ) it idles around 1.5K which I think is normal but when I ride around for a bit & when I check my RPM at a stop light it idles around 2-2.5k (Floats). Is my bike still supposed to idle around 1-1.5k after riding around for a bit ? Thanks

It will idle higher when the engine is warm

It should idle higher when cold than warm and 2500 is high 15-1800 is normal.

its lean, warm air from motor fixes the mix. up the pilot jet or turn in you air/fuel screw, 1/2 turn at a time and make sure they are all set the same to start

What bike is it? have you tried adjusting the idle screw?

Yes i tried to adjust the idle screw so its all good now. But i think i might still need my carbs cleaned lol oils been leaking just a lil from carb area

Lots of lazy owners of older bikes set their carbs so that they can skip the warm-up routine. You end up with a bike that runs way too rich and idles way too high when warm.
