Credit goes to the experienced riders of GTAM for giving their tough love and sharing their knowledge. I'm now sharing this abbreviated guide to new riders about how they can gain confidence on their motorcycles based on this knowledge. I'm all ears for any corrections and additional advice. Well done. If I may. To my ear, the smoking probably adds a bit of acoustic gruffness that adds authenticity to the already dangerous pursuit of motorbiking. One can't sugar coat these things and I'm glad we're getting the straight goods. Looking forward to more.

@inreb: I agree that smoking was a poor analogy for acceptance and closure but only in hindsight, and after getting the same feedback from another forum. I appreciate your constructive criticism.
