How high-milage is YOUR bike?

I have 85,000 km my 2002 and it's just nicely broken in. Other than routine maintenance, zero repairs. I met a guy in NY who had 395,000 miles on his ST1100, about 630,000 km and original everything except the carbs . A Iron Butt junkie, he said the slides were worn out and an e-bay replacement set cost him $200. I see many ST1100 's and ST1300's with well over 150,000 - 200,000 km on them and they are running very well with nothing other than routine oil, filters, tires, brakes etc......

I really do not have much time to ride as I am still working. I have a Russell Day Long Saddle and have done a number of 950km days, but these are more of an ordeal on the way home from a trip rather than a pleasure, not recommended. For long km day start early, stop often to stretch and make certain you are well hydrated. I get 425 - 450km a tank, but don't recommend you max out, stop every 2.0 to 2.5 hours.

Times flies by. Started season with 84,000 km and now have 89,500 km. No time to ride, just 2 trips all year long. Just retired and, hopefully, I'll have lots of time to ride in 2016.

Yeah, this year & last year has been horrible for me. Got new gf this year & new house. So much crap to do around the house. The only thing I liked about this season is the weather was consistent and I rode an average of 4 dys per week on the commute
 
147k on the VFR right now. I'm a bit disappointed as I didn't even make 25k this year, and was expecting the bike to roll over 100k miles by now.
 
80,000km on my 2004 GSXR1000. Put another 10,000 on this season + 10,000 on the new ride.
 
Update now 60000 on my 2011 F800r.

Most of the mileage is from trips down to PA, VA, NC, WV, Ohio etc and all- day rides up north.
Very fussy with maintenance and only use OEM parts, filters and yes even Bmw oil.


Enjoyable and reliable bike.

Gotcha!

I'm only at 75k. Little things are starting to rear its head. Radiator cap is gone, had electrical problems due to moisture & some light & wire problems.
 
I got 163K on my '01 Fat Boy. I try to ride everyday if possible and usually do at least 50km each ride. Windshield, backrest and highway pegs keep me comfortable. Music keeps me alert.

Not as good as Shane. I got mine new in November 2011. Have 68,000 kms now.
 
Shane is an animal. Anybody who hydrate while riding is on a different level

The bike that replaced it, a 2012 DL650 V-Strom had over 139,500 km on it when I sold I end of July this summer.

Neither bike needed any engine work or anything more than minor fiddling as the mileage built. (ie wear and tear items.)

I replace the 2012 DL650 with a 2015 DL1000 V-Strom at the end of July of 2015. It is too early to say anything about durablilty as it only has about 17,500 km on it so far. (Love riding it!)

There is a 2005 V-Strom 650 in Manitoba that has about 300,000 km and a 2003 V-Strom 1000 in the USA that has over 550,000 km on it.

My 2015 DL1000 V-Strom now has over 42,000 km. I should have somewhere between 45,000 and 50,000 by the end of July. (I bought it end of July 2015.). The 2003 V-Strom 1000 I mentioned previously has over 400,000 MILES, or over 643,000 Km on it.

Shane IS an animal! My wife and I loved riding with him in the spring and hope to do it again sometime soon!

As far as hydrating goes..I don't get it.. You just flip up the front of your modular and take your hydrating drink from your tankbag. Or you do what my wife does... drink out of her camelback.

93 vfr750 with 121,000km a little rough around the edges but runs great. However this year I'm still on my first tank of fuel.
 
Just hit 6500km! New clutch at the beginning of the year, all the valves were just replaced, bottom end bearings will be done agin over the winter. Running like a top.
 
I have a 15 year old Goldwing with 97,000km on it.I suck at this.:(

You don't expect that from a horticulturalist. Flowers this, fertilizer that. Care for a map? Of course there's always room for improvement. Some iron butters urinate in a bottle.
