I got served a coffee so hot in Poland the glue holding the paper cup together melted and the whole thing dumped over my hand/ground. Was mostly just annoyed I had to wait in like for 10 minutes again to complain and get a new one.

Also I presume you were referring to the lady that sued McDonalds. She originally only asked for medical expenses to be covered and the courts actually awarded her way more than she asked for because they found McD's to be negligent since they had ignored numerous warnings in the past.
