Oil temperature dipstick

I have one on my bike .Don`t know how accurate it is .
 
^ That's what I was afraid of. Maybe it would be better to get a laser temperature gun.
 
It doesn't have to be accurate measuring absolute temperature as long as it is accurate in measuring temperature differences. Instal it and learn what the normal operating temperature reading it gives. Keep an eye on it and if it starts to read higher then you know something is up.
