Windsor police have released three short surveillance videos of two men who broke into the Myers Towing yard and stole a motorcycle.

The duo broke into the yard at 3300 Marentette Ave. on Dec. 30. They stole a Yamaha motorcycle with no licence plates. The videos show the two culprits forcing their way into a storage unit and pulling out the bike.

Police said the videos were recorded on Dec. 30, but they have the wrong time and date stamp.

One of the men is white, tall and slender with a thin face and 20 to 25 years old. He was wearing a waist-length bomber-style jacket with fur around the edge of the hood and an insignia on the upper right sleeve. He was also wearing a baseball cap and baggy jeans that sagged below his buttocks.

The other man was also white and 20 to 25 years old, with a stocky build and dark hair. He was wearing a baggy winter jacket with a logo on the back.

Anyone with information can call Windsor police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS). You can also leave tips online at www.catchcrooks.com or on the Windsor police Facebook page.

Redditors fail in this regard: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-22214511

IIRC, the wrongly accused man committed suicide:http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-22297568

This wouldn't be the first time LEOs nabbed narcissistic criminals through Facebook. They're not the smartest bunch, especially when it comes to boasting. Also, there's no honour among thieves.

Social media is pretty much 24/7 SELF-surveillance, so I'm surprised more governments don't embrace it fully. It's cheaper and more effective than all that cloak and dagger stuff the NSA engages in. Plus, the software, hardware and service providers are often enthusiastic partners, regardless of politics.

People ask me why I don't have a facebook/twitter/instagram account. Too much sharing is bad.
