Useful small, cheap, digital thermometer

IR thermometer aimed at road and hardwired to provide power? $20 from PA.
Well then. Guess I'm wrong. Does it work well? Can't say I've ever seen a vehicle with a road temp display.

Never tried it, it just works in my head. You have a black surface radiating which should work well, it may go wrong on concrete or when it hits metal plates or painted lines. Obviously it is not waterproof so something would need to be built to keep it dry.

There are vehicles with freezing surface warnings.
I've seen ones that monitor the outdoor temperature and will warn you if it's below like 5C that ice is possible or slippery conditions. Never seen one that actually checks the temp of the road, though. Which vehicle does that?

Interesting idea. I have one of those that I bought on sale ($20) a few years back. My bike is sleeping right now, but I'm gonna tape the trigger down and stick to my driver side mirror on the truck next time I'm out.

Thanks, I was looking for something like this, got 5 at US$1.65 each.
