Dimple Drain Plug

Have seen these things advertised more frequently lately. Basically its an oil drain plug with a rare earth magnet core (rare earth is a very powerful magnet) which basically attracts small metal shavings from engine internals and that one can remove at every oil change. My bike, as most today, have a magnet core in the drain plug. But what I've done for the last several years is put a big rare earth magnet on my oil filter as extra insurance, with the theory being that dirty oil with small metal particles that are introduced to the filter remain attached to the wall of the filter where the magnet is.

Don't know that it really helps but for the minimal cost, and in theory it likely does as much or more than the Dimple Drain Plug.
