I still listen to the coolest man out there, 73 years old and still going strong:

Amazing thread guys.
Listened to all the links.
Loved the CofCool track, Roasted..Hadn't heard them before...i met DT back in the SYL days. Split personality to the extreme. Seriously nicest guy you can imagine offstage...total monster on.
Loved the Mimicking Birds track. Lyrics are very cool. Going to check out some more of their ****.
Xerath track was pretty cool. Nice mix/liked the use of string/keys behind the vocs.
Dr.John vid was amazing! Loved all the old studio gear.

I'm a big fan of 'listenable' avante garde music, heartfelt emotional/though-full (or provoking) music, and complicated time signature stuff- that still has melody- so stuff like Mr Bungle/FNM, Dog Fashion Disco, newer Dillinger Escape Plan, Chimp Spanner, Polka Dot Cadaver, older MSI.
For heavy- I'm really liking these Australian guys lately: really talented musicians- musical styles all over the map.

This is a pretty awesome video:

These British guys are all over the place in their styles--from song to song-- and within songs. If you are a fan of Mike Patton- you'll like this.

If you are a fan of Joe Satriani and Meshuggah- check this out....totally amazing.

And this guy...man...give it a bit---starts off all Ministry/Early Nine Inch-ish--then gets very 'Tim Burtony'. His other stuff is equally Tom Waits meets carnival/industrial metal music (Lullaby bye bye).

Man...i could keep going for hours...
Love hearing new music.
Thanks for the links!

If you like meshuggah, check out Vildhjarta.

If you're into progressive blues sound, listen to Richie Sambora stranger in this town, released in 1991 and still my favorite CD

I'll check him out tomorrow! Wish I got into blues... Or even jazz. But I don't know where to start.

Only jazzy thing I have on my iTunes is animals as leaders (jazz infused metal)

I'm a country fan and really like some of the new stuff that's coming out, especially from some women artists. Brandy Clark, Pistol Annies, Kacey Musgrove.

You probably have heard them already- but if not- check out Candiria- great jazz/metal fusion band- who go full on jazz in a lot of songs.

I have an eclectic taste in music.

Right now it's:
