Danmoto Exhaust Group Buy?

Hey folks,

Just wanted to know who would be interested in a group buy for Danmoto motorcycle exhausts.

Based on the reviews and threads I've come across on different forums, they seem like decent value for the price. If you don't want to spend $500-$700 on an exhaust for your bike, then this can be an option. Exhausts will be about $100 shipped. We would need a 20 item order to get a group discount.

Here's an article I came across that provides a review:

And these are some clips that I've found of Danmoto Exhausts installed:

Suzuki Bandit 600 - http://youtu.be/BTl6mZBLn_s

For the price, I'm willing to take a chance. Anyone else interested?

They sound super sexy on CBR 250 :)

You'd need to contact one of the admins before starting a group buy iirc.

Put me down for a few 06+ R6, 07 R1 and 09+ R1 cat eliminator pipes if it can be discounted enough to basically make it free shipping.

Thanks for the tip John! Yeah, I've contacted Paul about it and am waiting to hear back. I'm just seeing if people are even interested first. The idea came when I was looking at their exhaust for my CBR500R and ended up contacting them. That's when I found out about the 25% discount for larger quantity orders.

I was looking into getting one for my 09 R6. Let me know when Paul gets back to you. I'm interested. I think shipped would be $120 for my bike

Cheap china ****. none of the fittings worked, had to buy an exhaust clamp, and the springs are too long to be of any use. Don't waste your money.

melted the mounting bracket rubber on my 250, which in turn melted the carbon fibre.
sounded sweet.
doesn't really save money because you have to buy a new one at least every year.

Based on the posted review and the comments, it looks like these are ideal for trackbikes (where probability of crashing is higher and aesthetics matter less). Once you have the springs/clamps sorted out, you can afford to have a spare bike to swap in if you crush the one on your bike.

The concept of buying expensive parts for street bikes but junk for track bikes baffles me

Anybody paying $1000 for a slip-on just to make a street bike louder baffles me. I was assuming that you need some sort of muffler on a track bike and danmoto probably makes the cheapest thing around.

If you are aiming for more power and want to go with a full system, I'm all for a proper system, but for slip-ons, who cares who makes the fart can?

They are loud but I had one on a 1198 and a SV650 with the optional noise baffles,I had no issues with them for multiple seasons.

You can get a decent slipon for $350-$400 that doesn't need to be replaced after a season.

I wouldn't put a DM pipe on my lawnmower nevermind my bike.

But if you have a piece of junk for track you don't want to spend money on a nice exhaust for it.

I think most people understand that they are not buying the product expecting the quality of a Yoshimura or Akrapovič. It's an inexpensive alternative for people who can't justify spending $400-$600 on an accessory, especially if they've only paid a few grand for their bike. I've spoken with a few people now that have owned or currently own one, and they have been content.

Like I said, I'm willing to risk a hundred bucks to try it out.

Garbage exhaust. Why waste money on a useless slip on? Full system is the only way to go, otherwise there is no point.

If you want to save some $ go with Delkevic. Danmoto is just pure CRAP. My current bike came with one and I took it off as soon as I got it.

You can buy the GP M4 slip-on for $240: https://www.motomummy.com/slipons/2011-2012-gsxr-600/750-gp-m4-slipon/

Only slightly more money and it's at least a well known decent quality brand.

Any possibility of doing a group buy for that?

Haven't looked into Motomummy. But I did call up Delkevic today. They would be willing to give us a 10% discount off MRSP, and for a larger order (20 items +) they said that they would absorb some of the shipping costs as well. I'd be up for trying out Delkevic.

BrownBrady just posted a mint video of his Delkevic install:

I have a Jisu exhaust on my Ninja 250r. Sounds great (esp compared to stock), but it turned orange after a few months... keep in mind for carbureted bikes you might need to shim the needles to use one of these. I learned the hard way.

that's something you'd want to do anyway...
