Are you pushing your tires that hard that you need the stickyness? Most people find sport touring tires more than good enough and they sure as hell last longer.
This thread reminds me of an accident last year where a guy lost his life with his girlfriend on the back of his bike.
Cops said he lost control of the bike, and one of his last posts on facebook was a picture of his tire worn to the cords. Another person commented for him to replace the tire before he hurts or kills himself and his girlfriend...
