A trip of a lifetime Ontario to Washington - California and back July - Aug 2014

DMJ its a 2013

After spending a week in Westport we found out there is a Bike Rally in Ocean Shores WA
It was only about an hour away and we got comped rooms at the Casino.
So we headed there for 2 nights.
Pretty decent Rally and they had some great bands playing at the Casino.
One band was an all girls ACDC tribute band and they were pretty talented.
On the last day they had a Biker Breakfast Buffet.....mmmmmmm bacon :)

More of the Rally

Looks like you're having fun. Keep on posting it. Might take a trip out that way sometime myself.

After the rally I made my way back to Westport WA.
I spent a night there then continued on my journey.
Next part of my trip would begin in Westport and make my way to the Golden Gate Bridge in CA via #101 and #1

Once I left Westport I made my way to Coos Bay OR for the night.
What a stunning ride it is along #101 in OR.
There are some beautiful pull offs along the way and I got some grat pics.
For most of this part temps were low 60's to low 70's
Wonderful breakfast at a mom and pop place.

More of on my way to Coos Bay

After spending the night in Coos Bay I made my way to Fort Brag CA via #101 and #1
Simply breathtaking.
I had great weather even tho it heated up pretty good going through Avenue of the Giants.

And still more.
It was a long day and I slept great after a fine steak diner
i'll post more tomorrow.

Cool! I rode the Avenue of the giants, and some of those ocean rocks look familiar. :)

After spending the night in Fort Brag I spent the next day making my way to the GG Bridge via #1
Hwy #1 from Fort Brag to the GG Bridge is a ridiculous road.
It makes the Tail of the Dragon look like a carnival ride.
There was this stupid cloud that followed around and it seemed to have a mind of its own.
But I loved this ride and didnt want it to ever end even tho it was pretty hard on the arms.
Also saw these very odd looking trees that seemed to be shedding there bark?
I made it to the Bridge mid afternoon and after a few pics started making my way back up #101

After the bridge I started back north on #101
Late in the day the bike started to feel funny in the front end.
It seemed to have a bit of a wobble in it.
I checked the front tire but it looked fine
The back tire however.....ya not so much.
I checked the Harley Bible (map book) for the nearest dealer and made my way to Cotati CA
The next morning i went there and they replace the front and back tires and i was on my way.
Get this....these are the original tires on the bike and the bike now has 22456 miles on it or 36140 kms.

22,000 miles on a set of tires? Those tires were done 10,000 miles ago. You've worn through a layer of cords!

your pics bring back memories, thanks!

Hey Scheller.
Ya the boys at the HD dealer were pretty blown away by this.
The front still had quite a bit of tread on it but was cupping pretty bad so i replaced it.

After Cotati and the tire change i started to make my way north to Crescent City for the night and then back to the condo in Westport.

I stopped at Confusion Hill for a light lunch and a break.
It was 104f here.
An hour later i was in Eureka and it was sunny and 62f.....talk about temperature change!!!

Woke up in Crescent City and got gas to start the day.
In OR there using this sock thing on there pumps....ya i don't like it and its a big pain in the *****
After I stopped and this mom and pop for some of the best french toast I've ever had.
