$39 at Canada Tire - hokey video but helps to see how easy - he needs to forget the very annoying music.

Nice tent. Any idea how much it weights without stuff stacks and all that crap? I been considering building my own tent based on that design. My golite imogene 2 person weight 1 kilo, but it's a bit too tight with my gf. The two looped pole design seems gets the best reviews for space and ability to withstand serious storms while keeping weight down. This one is the pinnacle of tents IMHO http://warmlite.com/warmlite-climbers-two-person-tent

Thanks for that, it'll be here in time for next year.

BTW if anyone needs stakes these are cheap and great http://www.coghlans.com/products/ultralight-tent-stakes-1000
I think SAIL has em for ~$5.
They are similar to the MSR Groundhog.

I bought twenty on eBay from China, and had the head break off of one when I hit a rock and kept whacking it. They are head and shoulders better than the oem pegs that shipped out with my tent, and those that shipped with a North Face Rock 22 that my buddy uses.

It's heavy because it's strongly built...money or weight was not in the least an issue. Fold down size, strength and durability was. You get what you pay for in this case.
My only concern is volume not weight. But it might help someone else.

I'd never be comfortable in what you posted....I AM very comfortable in the Kermit chair and it's the #1 touring chair for motorcycles.

Buddy sat in it and his eyes popped...wow is this comfortable. :D..Yup

Maybe you're too fussy or not riding far enough. At the end of the day my 15$ crappy tire special is all I need. It's been a faithful companion for well over a decade.

I guess 12-13 hour days and 700-1000 km isn't far enough.
We put in 13 hour day and 750k today and ran the usual PA twists despite the rain the first two hours.

I've sat in flimsy chairs like that in Aus.
Not my cuppa.
I could fall asleep in the Kermit - there is a reason its so popular.
Why would I be interested in something I'd never use just cuz it's cheap?

Cheap, compact and light?

Yup. I'll be going for the twenty five buck special. That Kermit thing looks nicer than some of the furniture in my house. Totally unsuitable for my biking needs.

This is a steal if it ships, just ordered two. These are the official products vs the Chinese knockoffs. 300lbs capacity (for you Ronnie!).

At $25 wont last long and it would appear to be an Amazon special for the colour, normal price for these is $89 Cdn before shipping and taxes.

Just ordered one. I've been strapping a full size lawn chair to my bike for a couple of years now but I like the way this packs down.

Like I say, hope it ships. I've ordered a couple of things from Amazon with one to two month lead times and they all came in so fingers crossed. I'm looking at a matching table that packs down to a large water bottle size and weighs about a kilo. I'll post on that if I order it. At this rate I'll be looking for a packable ultralight TV stand and foldable flat screen TV too. ;)

Lmao! Comfort is important when you're doing 12 hour days on the road.

12-13 hrs 700-1000kms sounds about right.

Cheap, comfy and light. It's been with me for over a decade so not sure why you'd thinks it's flimsy. But don't let me stop you from buying a more expensive chair because it popular on some website. Whatever floats your boat.

The VFR loaded up for a 2 week trip to the east coast.
Yellow bag is a dry sack with my bed roll: Thermarest, sleeping bag and pillow.
Purple bag is my now 15 year old Marmot tent, and the single best piece of camping equipment I have ever had.
Side bags have clothing, first aid and tool kits. Top box is loose clothing, maps, spare gloves and other stuff that I generally want fast access to. I don't carry food for the most part, which is expensive but makes the trip more enjoyable for me.

One of my favorite moments was stealth camping at Polly's Cove.

Has nothing to do with popular - it has to do with construction quality and other riders using them with good results over time.....and it met my expectations.
That alternative does not strike me as a durable long term purchase nor engineered for comfort...more engineering for light weight which had nothing to do with my choice.

I have Zeiss roof prism binocs that are Made in West Germany ....that work just about as well today as when new...too many decades ago. $600 was a chunk of change to spend but they've paid off in flawless performance for many years.

I'll eat at McD's and sleep in cheap motels but I buy key items for the long term. A good chair is a key item for me travelling as it is working.

Hell I'd take a Zero gravity chair on the bike if I could but they don't come motorcycle friendly. :(

On the other hand...I think high end helmets are over priced and fashion items so I'm quite happy with my $140 AFX-55...super flexible and comfortable and does me off road and touring but I'll pay for decent quality in earphones for touring ( tho not at the very top which run over a grand ).
Ultimate Ears middle level work fine - fit fine.

I have my set of priorities you have yours....

probably a smart move given bears. I'd hate to see what a hungry black bear would to that pretty rig. ;)

case in point

BTW for those touring in PA....Sheetz has terrific food and terrific coffee....even to a single origin latte with choice of milk and they have full blown espresso machines in each location...totally a shock.
Free Wifi and and a neat ordering system.

Everything from junk to healthy

https://www.sheetz.com

Gas is reasonable and a fast cc system ....some have outdoor seating.
Middle rural PA is NOT a good coffee zone....Sheetz does it very well and I'm fussy.
Kid said his wrap was excellent.

All is take away except where they have seating ( then you just unwrap it ).
Huge selection of both made to order and name brand drinks.
Unlikely name...recommended on several levels for a refuel.

This is a big one..- have an eye out.

For those that bought the amazon Joey chairs.....mine just shipped ! Should be here this week. They are small enough that I can keep one in a pannier I think.
