Should there be a gap between the bar end weight and the handlebar?

I have a newbie question. Bike is a CBR250R. The handlebar end weight was missing on my left handlebar so I couldn't tell if there should be a small gap between the bar end and the handlebar. I noticed that there is a small gap on the right bar end weight so that the throttle twists freely. Should the same gap be on the left side to reduce vibrations? Currently, I have it bolted on tight with no gap.

I have the same bar ends. With that particular type the gap i more visible but its just how they are

What the two guys above me said.

The left side however do as you please. Makes no difference...
