Tony Stewart kills another driver on dirt track

Be really tough to prove that it was intentional. Not a very smart thing to do on the other drivers part.Sad,rip.

If you watch the video the guy was asking to get hurt, walking In the middle of the track hunting down the guy who made him crash.. Next time I'm at mosport remind me when I crash to stand in the middle of the track K?

I think he meant another as in fellow driver. Tony steward being first, the Darwin Award winner being another.

What do you mean "another"? This guy has done this before?

"If i was educated, I'd be a damn fool"

My outrage is split 90/10 in favour of Tony Stewart pending additional information. That I'm outraged is the main thrust of this post.

Stewart's car does a little twitch at the time. Did he twitch the car deliberately or did the car twitch because it hit the other driver? I'm leaning towards the later but some stop frame / alternate angle might clarify.

Not a good move, walking out on a track with an unstable surface and fast moving vehicles. RIP regardless.

The report I just read had the sheriff saying it was stewarts rear tire that made contact with the other driver. Hard to call that intentional and also could cause that twitch

When I read the report I thought one thing.

After seeing the video, that guy is a moron and deserved to get hit for his stupidity. It's a good thing he can't go on to breed offspring.

There's no way Stewart saw him.

Those are pretty wide, aren't they? I'm moving to 95/5 in favour of Stewart unless he's running an illegal tire. What ever the outcome, I'm still outraged. I want to be clear about that.

It's very common in the oval world to see a disgruntled driver walk in the middle of the track to show his disgust. It finally took an accident of this magnitude to realize how dangerous this act is.

Its common for morons to race sprint cars then I guess. I'd be mortified to step out onto that track. What a yokel.

Let's see:
Stepping out in a live track
Live slippery track
Dark track
Cars have no lights

Not the smartest thing to do regardless of how mad you are.

As was said RIP

Not to mention you aren't looking directly at the wreck/reason for yellow as you go by. Especially if you are close to another racer

Quote from a poster on another board on the same topic.Very well said!

Ok, I do not post much here...but here goes.

I raced sprintcars in Pa, Williams Grove, Lincoln, Port Royal, Selingsgrove for about 20 years...so that being said Tony could have avoided the kid easily, he had plenty of time, you can see well in those cars, they turn to the left nicely at any speed, no need for throttle, they were only doing 40-50ish .

Drivers very rarely stay in the car after a crash, the only time they do is when they think the car can be restarted or they are injured. It is very common for a driver to jump out a look car over to see if they can restart. Plenty of drivers do as that kid did, go down the track after another driver, I did it, Tony has done it...it happens. what also happens then is the other drivers in the cars try to avoid the the dumb *** walking on the track

Tony could have avoided that kid, he knows it and it will haunt him for the rest of his life that he killed that kid for doing something we all did

and just to brag, I won over 50 some features and 4 track championships..still hold 20 lap record at one track ...I quit in 2007. I was a cocky ******* too

There's been a shake up. 1/99 for Tony Stewart. What a dick. Tire size is not even a consideration anymore. Still outraged tho.

the track is very hard at this point, dry, dusty, and tires will squeal like asphalt... not slippery at all
the track is not dark... even high speed action on amateur cam from a distance got the picture.. in that lighting
drivers like Tony not only know where almost every car is.. but the driver and car number
they have a transeiver in their ear.. so the caution came out,, something like yellow, 1,2 corner, car 13, for most tracks
he knew .
I don't know Canandaigua announcer.. so it could have been different... :dontknow:

but as you said.. "Not the smartest thing to do regardless of how mad you are."
but read post 17....

Tony is not always kind to young drivers.. I have seen him be very rude ,face to face,, to young drivers.. so I wouldn't be surprised to see that attitude in his mind while driving.. to teach someone a lesson..
but.. I would never say he intended to kill..
but I guess if you are mad.. point a gun at someone .. and it goes off by accident.. you are still guilty of killing the person.....

"Tony could have avoided that kid, he knows it and it will haunt him for the rest of his life that he killed that kid for doing something we all did"

I personally am pretty close to 1/99 for Tony.. sad.... sad.......

I've been seeing/hearing/messaging about this for the last two days, my first two responses:

1) I kinda "LOL'd" at half of the first comments that thought Canandaigua, in Ontario County, was in Canada, so thus it should be a death due to socialism.

2) Some 20yr old wanders into live traffic, indignantly gesticulating...my first thought was that he MUST be a cyclist.
