Tightening chain

^^ this. Worn sprockets will chew through a new chain like butter. What shop told you to just replace the chain?
They are correct. Spend the extra money and get new sprockets as well.

Was it John? The older English gentleman? I trust his opinion.

Not all chains are created equally.

You will find that non O-ring chains wear quickly and tend to rust up.

Chain manufacturers like DID will sell different quality chains, some that resist elongation and stretching like many of their X-Ring chains with riveted master link.

I went with an EK X-Ring Chain this go around with Sunstar steel sprockets, in part due to cost, and also as a trial to see if I can get another 25,000 out of the set up.

My OEM front sprocket was quite worn, and the chain had begun to slip under acceleration, so I replaced the set about a month ago.

Oo i didnt know that .. Im still new to all this, but thanks for the info .. My next one will b a x-ring chain.

I recently just got used to some electrical stuff, but im gona try doing oil changes and regular maintainence myself as its getting a bit expensive.
