Hydraulic clutch bleeding

Just had a bit of a breakthrough, maybe I can post it here and it will save someone a headache - I was changing clutch fluid and lost all pressure in the lever, but couldn't get it back.

I have a vacuum bleeding tool that I was using and I was getting fluid out of the bleeder on the slave, just as I should. Still no lever pressure. I read in another forum that there could be air in the banjo bolt on the master cylinder.

I cracked the banjo bolt and pumped the lever a few times and noticed air bubbles coming out around the bolt. A few repetitions and success! Full lever pressure, and a perfectly serviceable clutch.

If you're bleeding your clutch - don't forget to burp the banjo.

It's imperative to not allow any air in the system the first place. Bleed by having excess amount of fluid in the reservoir

It was a mistake that led me down this path in the first place... I had a large leak of fluid from the secondary and the air must have gone up the line.
