Bike lane on the Gardiner?

Downtown may be a little trickier as you said, as there isn't a lot of space to play with, but the general idea I follow is that to get out of the way any way I can. I sometimes move even onto the pedestrian crossing (assuming no pedestrians) to the front of the guy in the left. If right turn lane is still not moving, that's not because there isn't space, but bec they are busy texting or something (often verified with a shoulder check).

I do filter to the front, but I never block the right turning lane, as I believe that my actions should not be disrupting the flow of the traffic in any way at all.
I do this every day, and haven't heard a honk or seen finger gestures, yet.

This is only true if everyone is doing it, not just the occasional self important ********* who wants to get ahead of everyone else.
