First trip down to PA

So trip got cancelled for unavoidable reasons, I do appreciate all the advice though and will use it for the next time we plan to go down to PA.

Having said that, we are going to head into Algonquin Park tomorrow for a day trip, I've got a route planned but any advice/criticisms would be much appreciated. Keep in mind this is a day trip, no chance of an overnight. Any thing we should stop and see along the way?

**EDIT** We are coming back on the slab part, thinking to leave the most boring part until the end of the day.

I noticed that after the 507, you are heading right for Elephant Lake Rd via Loop Rd. I added in Glamorgan Rd #3 and Essonville Line #4, which adds just a few minutes, but is much more fun. Between those two, you also get to ride along one of the most scenic sections of the 118 (beside Loon Lake) which is very nice.
Taking the slab all the way from Huntsville can be mindnumbing. After going through the park take the 35 south from Dwight. The 35 down past Dorset and on to Minden is a very nice scenic ride with excellent pavement and fast sweepers. In Dorset there is a lookout tower that has really far reaching views of the area. You can then drop down and ride past the Kirkfield Locks and causeway along Centennial Rd - very scenic.

Overall the changes add just over an hour to your ride but should make it quite a bit better. http://goo.gl/maps/6qWaE

Great suggestions, just loaded them up into the Garmin. Thanks a lot.

It might be a good thing as the American 4th of July Weekend will not be the best time if you want to ride.

There will be lots going on in the small towns and good barbecue along the roads but will be a busy weekend and with the east coast shut down by the hurricane you can bet a lot of holiday plans have been shifted inland.

Enjoy Algonquin - Nice coffee shop just off the highway past the HUntsville turn - off..bit of a natural break for fuel and a bite if you leave early ....yummy muffins.

Layer up - going down to 7 tonight which will mean lovely crystal clear skies but chilly.
