I think I've read some of you are audio technicians or engineers, so here's hoping someone can help answer my rather simple question.
Basically, I need to find an amp for my electronic drum kit. I'm too cheap to buy a drum-kit specific monitor/amp, or a keyboard amp (as I'm told they are just as good, if not better), and there aren't many on the used market. My question is, can I use a guitar amp that has a "line in" or "aux in" input reportedly that can be used for "CD players, etc.". Will it work and not blow the amp? Will it work and just have a really crappy sound with no low end?
I'm running an Alesis drum kit, which for whatever reason only has 3.5mm outputs (I do have 1/4" convertors though).
My budget is around $100-150 because I normally use headphone but occasionally want to play for events.
