This sucks...weather - who is going where?

I woke up this morning and decided I was going on tour even if it was 3 degrees out so I put on 3 layers and shot down the 401 east up to Belleville. It was cold to start but not so bad, plus traffic was thin all the way. I got to ride around around Calabogie all morning and I'm staying in Ottawa tonight. Going to ride in the Gatineau Hills tomorrow and then maybe I'll head for Lake Placid Monday (weather permitting)

Tempting now.... 5 going to 18 today abd 8 going to 19 tomorrow and sun both days....do we beleive them ?????

Renovo 16 today ( 1 degree tonight brrrrr ) and 20 tomorrow - lots of sun everywhere.
Best I get over and at least fuel up this morning just in case.

Very nice out there....rode bare handed to fill up - it's about 10 degrees now but perfect blue sky.
Anywhere along the lake will be chilly.

Corning is showing 17 and 20 tomorrow...hmmm - unexpected choices.

Port Dover is a bit boring and along Lake Erie to Niagara perhaps chilly.
Maybe Long Point for some bird watching and I can also get a pig out on Kneckle's perch.
Sounds like a plan.
Backroads to Hamiton then wander south.....get out there :D

Waterdown is having a street thing but Snake is open and could not see much gravel on it.

Nice pics.

I can add extra layers to keep warm but my gloves and boots are both vented, so my hands and feet get cold pretty quickly. That said, I'm usually riding in warm weather, so it's not much of an issue normally.

Thanks - was heading to long point to do some birding but the wind is too strong and it's straight off the lake.
Even with the sun out it's chilly.

12 feels like 9 .....certainly does.

This time last year ( hell it was a week earlier ) people were out playing in the water...some watercraft and boats out....

brrrrr....at least I warmed up at Knechtels and will put an extra layer on going home.

Well I can think of better days to put on 300k....and then almost TBoned an idiot on HWY 6 that decided to drive across the highway 6 without loking. Pretty close to triggering the ABS.

But rainy and chilly - stretched the fuel to get home - did NOT want to fill up ....too chilled now.
Hot tub time :D

Well I'm glad I didn't point the bike south again...no relief to be had apparently.
Mid teens and dry is very acceptable and it is a lovely time of year.
I actually ended up taking a really nice run up to Collingwood yesterday and except for a minor sprinkling on the way up, the weather was great (at least with heated gear on just enough to take away the morning chill). There was no traffic and it was fun to hit some of the old tried and trues since I hadn't been on them for months. Took the highways from Hamilton to Mayfield and Airport Road, the road Airport up to Hockley, did a semi-loop up Hockley to 10, over to Mono Centre and back down Mono Centre Road to Airport, then continued north on Airport then looped off again to explore around Terra Nova - River Road area - hooking up with 124 then up to Collingwood. Mono Centre and River Road were scattered with gravel but to be expected this time of year. Hit a couple of unpaved roads (which started off paved) that I don't know the names of, but I find that a lot in that area and they are often really scenic with well worn tire tracks down to the hard packed dirt, so if you can hold a line it can be fun to try some out. It met my criteria for not too far and inexpensive - with some fun twisties, some scenic moments care of the Blue Mountains and just a little over a tank of gas :)

Rode the bike on Saturday, rode the bicycle on Sunday, cold but had a blast. Let's see if I can get some chores done today

That's exactly what I'm doing this morning...raided the kid's room for mounds of dirty dishes and loud complaints.

DIshwasher on and get at least one of the three totally rearranged rooms a bit more orderly.
Forks I think tho it's already nice out....suckered once.....sigh....canNOT resist a sunny spring day.

Nice loop BG...smart to stay away from the lakes tho would guess Blue Mountain area a tad chilly.

I'm just shocked at the tree damage everywhere but that's cuz I was away.
Lots of firewood available this year.

+1 If I ever need to evade an angry gaggle of sportbikers or cruisers I'll just hang a left or right at the first gravel road to make good my escape and enjoy the view besides. People are really missing out.

Yes - it makes for a better rider and some of the roads are superb.
There is one clay patch south of the escarpment best avoided in the rain...skating rink I think it's actually called Clay Road maybe,
There are some nice and easy to ride dirt roads that widen the limited riding in S Ontario.

Never explored Blue Mountain - have to go up Beaver Valley and then wander a bit.
Maybe turn off the dirt road avoidance on Winding Roads.

Not every sport bike rider is afraid of back roads lol. Granted I go a tad slower than you probably would I don't see a problem. Better scenery this way sometimes and most on sportbikers are afraid to get their vajayjay dirty
:D

Nice pic but I find the sexual imagery a little disturbing.;)

Good for you - then you know how to handle the bike when you get into construction zones and unexpected road conditions.

Okay I'm a sucker - showing 18 for Orangeville - calling for showers but zilch of any consequence on the radar.

Might as well work up there as home and we're still near the lake and I can feel it .....

Get out there :D

Get out there :D

I wish. Out all day yesterday. That's enough. Today I listen to birds chirping in backyard between bursts of Harley thunder in the distance.

It really is nice out but I dawdled and did not go far as for sure gonna rain and be stupid busy.

One way to beat the traffic...a gyrocopter - cruising along the escarpment
