Camping at Friday the 13th

The last time I was out to Dover (3-4 years ago) I left just after dusk and passed a huge field filled with tents and bonfires. Since the Paris Vintage rally has changed it's weekend a number of us thought we would go to Dover on Friday, camp there Friday night and then head over to Paris Saturday.

What's the deal with camping on Friday?
- How much is it to camp?
- Do you have to get there early to secure a site?
- Any facilities?
- Is there a shuttle into town.
- Does the party run into the wee hours like R4S?
- Any special pros or cons?

Thanks in advance

People rent out their lawns right in the town for bikers to camp out...

It's free at the school, get your spot early, before you party. There is a shuttle, you can walk, it's a party the whole way.

BTW, going again this year. Perhaps some of the "air cooled" crowd would like to meet there?

According to a friend who never misses Dover, free camping at the school fills up Thursday evening by those who want to party all day Friday and leave Saturday. I'd recommend getting a hotel or camping within easy riding distance to both events.
