It's bad enough these losers take 6 weeks off for a broken finger nail, and 2 weeks off for a fat lip, but now Halak didn't want to start in net for Washington against St. Louis because he didn't feel comfortable playing against his former team. This idiot is suppose to be a professional.

hmmm. dont know what you be talking about. Hockey players are normally pretty tough.

Its usually the baseball players that take a month off for a hangnail. hockey players get stitched up on the bench, and dont miss a shift.*

* except for crosby, he's definately a pussy

I like where this thread is going. No love for Crosby here either. Big mouth and nothing behind it

This is my favourite photoshop of all time.

I find hockey players nowadays are a rough 50/50 split as to sheer grit and toughness. In the playoffs it becomes 90/10. You have guys like Tavares, Thornton (Joe), Most of the Red Wings and Bruins, etc. Who'll finish a game broken and then you have the Phaneufs, Crosbies, Ovechkins, Habs ;) Keslers, Lapierres etc. Who'll take any dive any time

Not sure what you mean by tough...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=301565

Seems they might be able to take a beating and still keep going. With a few exceptions of course...

Now if you want to talk about cry babies... I'd suggest looking to those who play soccer and please come back to tell me hockey players are still a bunch of babies!

Truer words have never been spoken. I simply love how soccer players will drop to the ground clutching their whatevers writhing and crying in pain as if they were gunned down in a liquor store robbery gone bad. Then there is a video replay and it shows they never made contact with anyone.

I love how I read through this whole thread and have 0 knowledge of hockey except a few names here and there.

Rich Peverly - Cardiac arrest on the bench, gets revived and asks how much time is left in the period.

Greg Campbell - Breaks his leg and finishes 1:30 of his shift because he couldn't get to the bench without leaving his team one player down.

Stamkos - Breaks his tibia, 2 weeks later is walking to press conference without boot or crutches.

Max Pacioretty - breaks his neck at the end of the season and is back the beginning of the next.

Anyone who has ever gotten hit by Scott Stevens and returned to play another game.

I definitely think you have hockey and soccer players confused as soccer player are the biggest pu$$ies in sports.

The OP Said hockey players today are wimps compared to hockey players of old.. Not compared to soccer or basketball players..

I would 100% agree with him.. Been watching hockey for a long time.

my problem was that i forgot what year it was.

I stopped watching hockey during the second Lock out.. so im guessing that was 04 ? anyways.. New players then werent wimpy.

had no idea its been that long, didnt feel like it...lol

This is serious old-man talk, but have you ever actually had a cramp so bad that your leg just locks up entirely? There is no "willpower" then - your muscles just refuse to listen to any signals your brain send.

My dad got them all the time for a long while, and I've had 'em once or twice.
