The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Price seems decent on this to me, I might be wrong though (2001 Ninja 500, 44000 km, ~$1900):

Not very cheap but I've seen worse pricing for these bikes and this one is basically new (2009 RS125, 18 km, ~$6k):

Dealer in Ottawa with a new one is asking $9k plus $1500 street kit so this is a bargain compared to them but you can get one a bit more used for like $4k.

These are collectible and cool. But I don't see $9K for a 28 hp bike.

That's why I thought $6k was more reasonable (I agree that it's still high). That Ottawa dealer is out to lunch. He also thinks there are only 7 in all of Ontario with no used ones for sale but I have personally seen at least 5 for sale by individual people and George Ruffolo of Corsa Meccanica told me he brought in 50 himself. I tried to tell the Ottawa dealer all this but he didn't care and didn't believe me. They still have that bike sitting there (confirmed last week).

There is a whole Ponzi scheme going around on vintage two strokes and there is a guy who has been trying to sell an Wolf RGV gamma for $20K for years. People are trying to force a speculation market, and for Yamaha RZ500s, it seems to be working.
People seem to forget the whole point of two strokes was that it was the cheapest way to make a motorcycle engine, and rare does not always mean more valuable.

The problem with RS125s at $9K is you could just go to UK or Europe and buy them for under 1500 pounds (~$3k).

Two years ago when I looked there were a bunch of brand new ones for $4500 in BC but they didn't come with the street kit and I wasn't sure how much trouble I'd have getting them registered for the road here so I just bought a used one with everything for around the same price.

Good deal for a Canadian Wee I think -

From your ad:
Very cheap on insurance and gas

Who are you insured with? I have a coworker that is practically trying to give one of these away because he bought it from his neighbor without checking insurance and he says his rates are absolutely terrible due to the 900CC engine.

I pay $76/month through the personal

I know it's not as cheap as a 500 but still cheaper than SS

That's not bad at all. Strange, I'm pretty sure he's insured with The Personal (most people at my workplace are). I'll have to ask him.
