The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

im assuming you knew about the new KLX, or the new Tenere 7 coming out, why the crf then?
The rally model fills a niche the others don't. Better offroad than a klr, f650gs, vstrom or versys. Better on road than a klx, drz, or an xrl.
Great little daily runner with a bit of adventure on the side.

Neat bike
Good article

800x450

As the article says a bit more power useful....maybe by the time I'm ready in Oz they will bump it a bit.
350 lb 80 less than the KLR. Still the Rally a good deal from Honda.
That has got to be one of the steeper "down size".

Tried to sell the CBF for a while but offers were't worth it so I sold the Vstrom.

There was always one machine out there at a low price
Still is one now.

FYi insurance only a tad about the 650 vstrom.
CBF1000 good for riders with short inseam too.

"Im selling a 4 month old immaculate motorcycle lift. Foot pump and foot release hydrolic. I restored my bike and am done with it. Bought from priness auto for 360$ all in 4 months ago. I added tie down points and rope to move it around without having to bend over. It has been a great help for my knees and back. Immaculate condition. 220$ firm"

Not a bike but related and decent price.

The cbf is somewhat of an unsung hero imo. They make a fantastic daily rider and an excellent light tourer. Was seriously looking at one when I bought my Versys. I likely would have bought the cbf, but the owner couldn't be bothered digging it out of the back of the garage. He asked me to wait a couple months until he could get around to it.

Yikes ...pretty casual. It's a great successor to the ST1100 ...never understood why Honda did not bring in the CBF1000 but choose the awkward VFR1200.

In the UK the Biffer as it's known is actually considered a suitable bike for new riders ....which was a surprise but it's very docile until you light it off and with the flat torque curve can be bumbled along at 3k rpm and still roll on smoothly. I wasn't sure about distance until last summer and 3,000 km in 4 days including nice twists in SE Ohio convinced me. C-ABS are the best brakes I've had. Short range is annoying ..just makes 300 km. Cockpit is very basic ..analogue gas gauge in particular, no 4 way flashers either. Otherwise lots of fun and under 500lb very nice. Lights are just okay.
There is a good forum site tho UK based.

I think it gets caught between those wanting a liter tourer for two up and more performance like the FZs etc. ,...it's no slouch but won't hang with 150 hp+ tho the flat torque curve is nice.
Pretty decent for the smaller stature rider, one almost buyer bought one for his wife. 3 seat positions and 3 windshield positions ( marginal windscreen ).

That deal at $3800 is pretty fine with factory bags......considering the CBF600s go at $5k ...never could figure that.

R version of the FZ6 was okay
but less of a bike than the FZ6 that didn't sell

Yamaha put cheaper brakes and suspension
on the bike no one in NA wanted
wrapped it in plastic with catchy decals
called it the R, and people bought them

NA buyers are weird

This seems pretty decent in the category asking $4800 for a 2014

It's a "meh" deal. A Quick Kijiji search shows a 2013 with half the mileage at the same price, or a 2009 with 4350km for $4300. Could may get that one for $3800.
Yamaha didn't really change anything at all on those bikes from year to year if I recall correctly.

That's usually a good thing and later model years mature. 2009 I would think much different tech.
Mileage on an inline 4 is almost meaningless...maintenance counts and that one has a solid base,

It wasn't just that, it was actually a totally different bike that only shared a similar (but detuned) engine. Naming of FZ6R still puzzles me to this day. That's like naming a Honda Fit - Civic R.

Top speed on that Virago is 121 km/h, and with HP and torque both below 20, it'll take a while to get there and would be screaming bloody murder by the time you get near highway speed. I only looked that up because I know from my shadow, that I wouldn't go below 750 on a cruiser even for a beginner.

And it sound likes an angry grasshopper. I mentioned that at an MSF course and a guy got really mad as that was the bike he bought for his wife. I agree with you on engine size, a 250 cruiser really is slow enough that it starts to be more dangerous than a larger bike.

If the owner stays off 400 series highways, why would it be dangerous?

Had a CBX250 before. Top speed was 120km/h. Stayed in the right lane on the highway. Wasn't dangerous, but I wasn't a beginner when I was riding it. Off highway it was fine.

"2006 Virago 250 $1200 I am the third owner I had it safety checked last July 2017 has a new chain ,windshield ,oil change and mirrors bought it so my wife could learn to ride selling it as is"

Seems a good price.

It's basically a CBR125/Grom, but in cruiser form. Would likely be less to insure because of that too ;)
