OFTR Needs your help

Sounds like a good idea although with all the stuff going on regarding politicians lately, I couldn't stop laughing at his last name!

Jeez, I  hope Rob Ford doesn't try to smoke him. If you convert to Green Plate you can't switch it back to Dual (Blue plate) and it can't be changed back. Its a good option but seems like a step closer to doing away with dual sports.

MPP Grant Crack has introduced a Private Members Motion to allow ATVs & Side by Sides to travel municipal roads with a green plate, but not similar plated motorcycles. Please email or call Mr. Crack and ask him politely to include us in his motion. His email address is listed below.

It would be a nice idea, BUT municipal roads are not the jurisdiction of the province. As the law is currently written a municipality must pass a bylaw to permit ATV's to use their roads and side by sides are not permitted on ANY Ontario road, (their inclusion is opposed by both the MTO and the OPP, they state that the manufacturers refuse to release safety data). There have been three municipalities who have passed bylaws permitting S X S's on the roads and they were forced to rescind the bylaw by MTO who have the final say. But also this would mean those who currently run green plates, (Most don't carry insurance, would now be forced to have full insurance on their bikes).

Not sure ANYONE who has a blue plate would switch to a green plate because of this as they are already permitted to use the roads so what benefit would there be to giving up your blue plate for a green plate?

This is to allow green plated dirt bikes to use roads to connect trails like snowmobiles do.

Green plated bikes already require insurance in ontario.
