Just going through my travel photos from the Pyrenees area bordering France and Spain.

This map caught my eye - look those crazy switch backs all over...

That band of the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean is about 600KM.....can you imagine the roads...a lifetime of riding just along that band.

Thousands of KM of stuff like this...

and even the bicycles get speed limits

yes boys and girls....Ontario sucks.

Extend your touring radius to 1000 miles or go WEST

Even then its tough to find the density which allows a lot of paved roads but the nice part in PA is decent roads and very very little traffic.

I think I'm going to extend my job search to the West Coast of Canada...

^^^ the west rules. Nicest place to live in all of Canada. Point number two. Ontario has ski hills. More like large speed bumps. To call blue a "mountain" is a joke.

Sent from my piss poor iPhone while sitting on my squidly gixxxxxxxxer sippin on kool aid

My wife's cousin was airlifted out of there a few years back.

If it's twisties you want, I wouldn't get too excited about the West.

Sure, maybe if you go to western Alberta, you get into the foothills and of course BC has plenty, but Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and a good damn chunk of Alberta are flat flat flat with almost nothing but gridiron roads.

Those roads you showed look like the Top of the World highway but paved, with guardrails, and less drop off the side. That thing was freaky. Saw 3 bikes on it.

Definitely fun to take on a real bike as long as there aren't any Italian scooter riders holding things up

Depending turn radius an intermediate scoot can give a sports bike fits as they have different geometry.

and the top end maxi's can give all but SS's a run in the twists...bottom line you don't want a string of cruisers holding things up either as we too often get in PA

That's why I qualified with "real bikes".. Snoozers are more like couches that happen to run on 2 wheels

Pyrenees? Yes please: http://vimeo.com/19168602#at=0

Watch to the end.

Yeah, I guess we have health care to sweep us up after the stress, pollution and processed food takes it's toll, but I'd rather have a 250 and some decent roads, with proper cafes all the way. Portugal is apparently pretty awesome too.

One day...

"real bikes" are whatever anyone chooses to ride and enjoy themselves on.
There's not a few cyclists in the Pyrenees that would take a corner at speeds any motorized two wheeler might blanch at .....those guys are good and gutsy and don't need 100 HP to stroke their ego.

They think nothing of a day trip riding from Spain to France OVER the Pyrenees and then back just for a jaunt.
That speed limit sign for cyclist is for good reason.
